We reported on Emil Voetzsch four years ago. The man was already 100 years old at the time and was supposed to vacate his place in the retirement home... which was already being used at the time to incite hatred against refugees.

And this picture is still being passed around today:

“A 100-year-old German who experienced and survived two world wars, helped rebuild Germany, worked well all his life and paid taxes is threatened with eviction from a retirement home because he can no longer bear the costs of the home alone. How poor has this country become? Gilding the asses of pseudo-refugees, parasites and asylum fraudsters who do nothing for Germany, let alone have ever done anything, but deprive poor Germans of their dignity in old age.”

The screenshot with the text and the image originally came from the website “Netzplanet”, which was known at the time for its articles with half-truths, complete lies and constant hate speech, but no longer exists.

Why was he threatened with eviction?

RP-Online ” reported on this case alongside many other media outlets at the time. At that time, the head of the Jüchen senior center, John Esser, said that over the course of several months, outstanding debts of 15,000 euros had arisen that had not been paid. The senior center had to act because otherwise its liquidity would be threatened, i.e. the entire senior center would have had to close.

Was the poor man then sitting on the street?

No . In fact, the forced expulsion and that famous photo of Mr. Voetzsch being wheeled out of the senior center was a pretty clever ploy. The financial situation was unclear for a long time and the old man's need was unclear for a long time. The eviction notice then came, but employees from the public order office were already standing in front of the senior center... and sent the pensioner back to his room .

Those employees had a decision for forced accommodation . And in this case, the municipality must cover the costs of accommodation. He no longer had to move out; his right of residence was valid for life.

And what does this have to do with refugees?

Nothing . The senior center used a clever legal trick together with the pensioner, decided on an eviction so that a compulsory accommodation would be decided and the costs of the accommodation would be covered by the municipality.

Back then, “Netzplanet” only used the touching and amusing story to be able to say something against refugees. Of course, rumors then flared up that he had to move out of the senior center so that refugees could be accommodated there, which was an absolutely baseless claim.

In the end, the image and text are nothing more than incoherent propaganda.
