This fake was born in 2015. Here the satirical site “World News Daily Report” on the alleged birth of an 18kg baby. This story was then republished by “Like Mag” in 2016. – We reported HERE .
In 2018, this myth was given new impetus by a new publication. We also reported about this HERE .

Now this story appears again. Increased access to our older fact checks on this topic told us that this fake is circulating again. A look at Facebook confirmed our suspicions, this story was posted here on April 27, 2022:

The link leads to the “Life” , where you can read again about the alleged record birth.

It's still fake!

Nothing has changed. This story is still not factual. But let's summarize again:

A woman weighing 250kg is said to have given birth to a baby weighing 18kg. According to the Life article, doctors expected to have two or three babies in their hands at birth. However, they were surprised when only a giant baby finally saw the light of day.

“Leben” cites the website “startface.com” as the source.
However, only in the text, there are no links included. A quick check shows that this domain is not taken and is therefore available. So the source simply doesn't exist.

No information is given as to when or where this birth would have taken place. Therefore, we use the alleged information from previous reports on this topic.

The fact check

According to World News Daily Report, the 600-pound woman gave birth to the 40-pound baby in Perth, Australia. But that is not correct either.

According to Daily Mail UK, Christina is from the USA (not Australia), was 23 years old at the time and, as part of a television show in 2014, wanted to reduce her weight after bypass surgery in order to lead a normal and healthier life.

The baby she supposedly gave birth to is named Nadia. According to BBC UK, the girl was born on September 26, 2007 in Barnaul, Siberia. She weighed an impressive 7.75kg (the equivalent of 17.1 pounds), and not 18 kilograms as claimed.

Conclusion

Mother and child are neither related nor is the baby's true birth weight correct.

The story has been rehashed and re-told since 2015. However, that doesn't make it any truer.
