We have already reported several times about the status message that Facebook has a new algorithm and that all friends should comment on the post. A user has now found the logic error in this hoax.
If you don't know what exactly it's about, here are the main excerpts from one of our articles :
The following text is diligently copied and reposted on Facebook
“It’s crazy how that worked!
After I shared this with all my friends, my news feed showed a whole bunch of new posts from my friends. I never realized how many posts weren't shown before. Here's how to avoid hearing from the same 26 FB friends and no one else.
This post explains why we don't see all of our friends' posts. Funny, thought if I followed you on Facebook I would see what you post. no longer shows posts from the same few people, about 25, over and over again, because Facebook has a new algorithm.
Your system selects the people who will read your post.
However, I would like to decide for myself, so I'm asking you all for a favor - If you read this message, leave me a quick comment, a "hello", a sticker, whatever you want to appear in my messages feed! Otherwise, Facebook chooses who shows me this and I don't need Facebook to choose my friends!
Don't hesitate to copy and paste on your wall so you can have more interaction with all your contacts and bypass the system.
That's why we don't see all the posts from our friends Thanks for the brains from those who have already copied and pasted above.
Hold your finger anywhere in this post and “copy” will appear. Click “Copy.” Then go to your page, start a new post on your page and put your finger anywhere in the empty field. “Insert” will appear and click Insert. Thank you"
Is that correct?
Nobody, except the Facebook programmers themselves, knows the algorithm for which posts you see, when and from whom. Facebook itself clarified :
“We organize the news feed based on which posting might be relevant to the user. Although we have made some adjustments that may increase the number of visible posts from friends, the News Feed is not limited to 25 contacts.”
And where is the logic error?
This error is so simple that we would be ashamed not to have figured it out straight away: even if this ominous algorithm existed, it cannot be outwitted using this method ! Here's a user's comment:
“Suppose there really was this algorithm according to which the same 25 users could always read you. Who would then see this posting here? These 25 users. And then who would be able to write “Hello” or whatever under here? These 25 users, because only they see it. You wouldn’t be able to reach more or different friends with the posting.”
We don't need to add anything to this!
