Con artists are always outsmarting their victims. Be prepared for these five deceptions!

By the time you notice the theft, it is usually too late. Con artists like to rely on distraction in their methods. Therefore, it might make sense if you can at least sense in advance that danger is imminent.

In a short video, SWR shows five deceptions that con artists use to achieve their goal.

The police also provide information on this topic. In the brochure “Beware of pickpockets!” it rings:

They take advantage of the crowds and especially crowds of people at airports, train stations and large events: pickpockets watch their victims closely and seek physical closeness. They bump into their victims, “accidentally” soil their clothes, engage them in conversation with threadbare questions, and appear overly helpful or grateful. Pickpocketing is one of the most common crimes in the big city - along with car break-ins, bicycle theft and damage to cars.
