Just a few days ago we reported on the dubious “Milka” competition ( here ), which was also sent via WhatsApp. Now there is another WhatsApp competition. This is called “70 Years of Gold Bunny” and again the fraudsters are probably working according to the same pattern, because the URL is almost identical to that of the fake competition from “Milka”, namely: “ wp20.ru/…. “
Danger! Behind the supposed competition, which did NOT come from LINDT.de, there is no 7x 10,000 EUR to be won. Either an expensive subscription trap awaits the recipient or, in the worst case, a Trojan!
It is this message:

If you tap on the message, you will be redirected to a website that looks as if you were on the LINDT website. This is intended to create trust, but the website was NOT from LINDT. This can also be seen from the URL that points to *.RU. This was already the case with the “Milka” fake competition:

Screenshot of the fake LINDT website:

After answering a few questions, you still have to send the message to countless WhatsApp contacts. This function also creates the original message that you have already received from an existing contact. Only when you have forwarded the message to 20 contacts can you complete the supposed “competition”.

If you tap “Complete” in the WhatsApp message, several more browser windows open again and again. There you can see everything, except NO COMPETITION FROM LINDT, where you can win 7x 10,000 EUR at the end.

During our test, in addition to dubious “subscription trap apps”, we were also informed that there was a “cleaning update” for our smartphone and that you could use it to “clean” your phone and make it faster!

70 years of gold bunny
ATTENTION: The fatal thing about this fake competition is that Lindt.de is currently running a real competition, which is also called “70 Years of the Gold Bunny”. One reason why a lot of users are probably falling into this nasty trap at the moment!

Conclusion:
WhatsApp users are lured into a trap under false pretenses. Fraudsters pose as “LINDT” and promise users 7x 10,000 EUR. However, this is not true. The aim of the fraud is for gullible users to fall into expensive subscription traps or even, in the worst case, to catch a Trojan, which in turn can attack the owner's private data! The fatal thing is that Lindt.de is currently running a real competition, which is also called “70 Years of Gold Bunny”. One reason why a lot of users are probably falling into this nasty trap at the moment!
