The email verbatim

If you click on the link provided, you will land on an imitation website that resembles that of domaintechnik. at looks confusingly similar. Under no circumstances should you enter your details here!

How do you recognize fraud?

  • Sender address: “Domain technology” is listed as the sender. But if you take a closer look at the “From” line, you will see that the email does not come from domaintechnik.at. In our example, the sender address is contact@limodreamer. pt.
  • Language and company mix: The email is written in German, but in the middle it switches to another language (“Har du några funderingar?”). At the end, the criminals also thank you in the name of “easyname GmbH”, even though the email is from domaintechnik. at should come from.
  • Reason for writing: Consider whether the claims make sense. Is it possible that your domain needs to be renewed? Did you receive reminders as claimed in the email? If you are unsure, contact customer service and ask whether the email is legitimate!
  • Link: If you are asked to click on a link, check it before clicking. To do this, simply place the mouse on the button or link (without clicking). This way you can see which page you are redirected to. If in doubt, log into your account as usual and check the claims.

Have you entered your details?

Contact your credit card company immediately and explain your situation to discuss further steps. Once you have released a payment, try to get the money back, even if the chances are quite slim.
