On the occasion of World Mental Health Day (October 10th), FLOW magazine and Meta have launched a joint week of action on the topic of mindfulness: #mindsamzeit.
- On the occasion of Mental Health Awareness Day, Meta and FLOW, with the support of creators in Reels, among others, will be showing for a week how you can actively use Facebook and Instagram to be mindful
- The creators also provide insights into their everyday lives and show why discussing mental health on social media can be important and constructive
- The Reels are shared on the Meta Germany page , the FLOW Instagram account and on the creators' channels
Meta writes that social media is playing an increasingly important role in everyday life and that it can influence well-being. That's why it's important to Meta to give users tools and functions to actively shape the experience on the Facebook and Instagram platforms.

Creators share their tips for more mindfulness
For the week of action, Meta and FLOW got support from the creators @denkmallaut , @hannah.nele , @raphael.lepenies , @the.gnani and @hellopippa , who provide insights into their everyday lives with reels , stories and feed posts and show how social media can help promote conversation about mental health and mindfulness.
A specially designed AR filter invites you to pause
In addition to the week of action, there is a new AR filter that makes mindfulness visible and tangible, developed by creator @saralisavogl . It is available to the community for free use – even beyond the campaign week.
Helpful functions on Facebook and Instagram
- Manage push notifications
Push notifications basically offer the opportunity to be informed about new posts outside of the app. However, they can occasionally be distracting or become too much. Therefore, users should consider why it really makes sense to set push notifications. - Set daily limit
Users can set a reminder that reminds them to only spend a certain amount of time per day in the app. The activity dashboard and a daily reminder help you spend your time mindfully on the platforms. - Block and report
If users have come into contact with fake accounts or content that violates our community guidelines, certain settings can help to protect themselves.
Block: When an account is blocked, that person will no longer be able to find, view, or send direct messages to the profile using search.
Report: If people send inappropriate messages or give the feeling that a hacker/scammer is behind it, these accounts can be reported.
Information about additional functions can be found Facebook and Instagram
