Perhaps you have already thought about what could be thrown into the air when the toilet is flushed? No, then perhaps that time has now come.

Viruses and bacteria from the toilet

study , researchers at the University of Colorado were able to show that bacteria and viruses are thrown into the air via small water droplets - aerosols - during rinsing. SARS, influenza and noroviruses, among others, have been detected in the particles that can enter the air in this way.

The study also measured the speed at which the particles travel. It was also made clear how the aerosols spread and reach higher and higher into the air.

Eight seconds after the flushing process started, the aerosols had already reached a height of around 1.50 meters. This means that the contaminated particles can reach the mucous membranes of people around 1.60 meters tall. This means that the possibility of becoming ill cannot be ruled out.

Even if you are perhaps 2.20 meters tall, it may be better to close the toilet lid before flushing in the future.
