Several power banks from the in-house brand Amazon Basics are affected.
- AmazonBasics Power Bank External Battery Charger Portable 3000mAh
- AmazonBasics Power Bank External Battery Charger Portable 16,100 mAh
- AmazonBasics Power Bank External Battery Charger Portable 2000mAh
- AmazonBasics Power Bank External Battery Charger Portable 10,000 mAh
Buyers must dispose of the faulty devices themselves. Alternatively, Amazon customer service can be contacted. Chip, for example, explains how this works in this video .
The corresponding portable battery chargers are no longer offered on Amazon.
Result:
Yes. Amazon is currently sending emails warning about its own power banks.
Affected buyers should under no circumstances continue to use these products as they can overheat and catch fire!
