Excellent! Cheap in price, and maybe you can get something really great for little money - this is exactly how users are lured into buying “unclaimed Amazon packages”.
These so-called “mystery boxes” are offered again and again. The price for this is often around 25 or 30 euros. If, with a bit of luck, you might receive a new iPhone, a games console or even more expensive technology in a surprise package, that would be great!

It is clear that this story must of course have a catch. But which one? You don't know what you're getting. And you don't know if you'll get anything at all. Unfortunately, the shops behind these advertisements are anything but reputable.
Dubious online shops
The link in the ad takes you to a website that is designed like many other such shops. A big picture of Amazon packages, and lots and lots of technology around it. Drones, VR glasses, Playstations, smart watches, TV sets – the sight of this makes the technology heart beat faster.

There are various boxes available for purchase in this shop. A basic box, a super box and “the super giant mystery box”. The prices are between around 30 and 50 euros. Here we also use the marketing tricks: Of course, these prices are currently all reduced. The percentage discount can be seen in a red field. But the offer is of course limited in time. The countdown on the shop page puts some interested parties under pressure. What's more, you can see that boxes are constantly being sold - the number of units is decreasing and decreasing, and you can watch it live.
“You have to strike!”
“And if it’s just a product for 60 euros, I’ve already won.” – This is probably what many users think. If you then put a box in your shopping cart, you will be informed that shipping is free for purchases over 100 euros.
... and then the next trap springs up and you consider whether you should order several of the “unclaimed Amazon packages”.
What do you get now?
Our cooperation partner Wachlist Internet has already issued a warning against this sales method:
“We cannot judge whether the mystery box can actually provide a positive surprise, as we are not aware of any reports. However, one reader reported that she was sent four inferior products - for example a pair of headphones and a smart watch, both worth 6 euros each."
Watchlist Internet
We would therefore like to maintain this warning . This business method obviously involves tricks. The hoped-for high-quality products may turn out to be inferior products. So it's better to ignore the advertisements.
