Fraudsters try to get access to the relevant account in the name of Amazon.
Cyber criminals are currently trying to get access to Amazon customers' login details by sending an email with a pretext. They pretend that an order has been placed.
If the phishing victim wants to cancel the order, they will be sent a fake login mask.
The email is as follows:
Hello,
Thank you for your order.
Your confirmation number is HYG8PT3SPlease see all details in the attached file (PDF).
The email is accompanied by a supposed invoice in which you can find information about the alleged order and the option to cancel the order.
What happens if you want to cancel the order from Amazon?
There are several links in the PDF: “Report a problem” or “Report a problem, manage payment or cancel your order”. If you now use one of these links, you will be taken to a replica Amazon login page. This looks like the real login page, but it's not!
You can tell this if you take a closer look at the link and website address, because they are fundamentally different from the real Amazon page “www.amazon.de”.

If you enter your access data here, it will fall into the hands of cyber criminals. They can then take over your account and place orders.
I have entered my details – what can I do?
Change your password as soon as possible! If this no longer works, contact Amazon customer service. Once you have entered your bank or credit card details, keep an eye on your bank statements and it is best to contact your bank or credit card company and have your account or credit card blocked.
How do I recognize a fake email?
- Most of the time you will not be contacted personally. Scammers use phrases like “Dear Customer” or no salutation at all.
- The pretext is unrealistic and the email is full of grammatical and spelling errors.
- The return address is not the service address of the named company.
- The login page link does not match the link of the correct page.
- The links to data protection, general terms and conditions, legal notice, etc. do not work.
- As a general rule, Amazon does not ask you to disclose personal information via email.
