An SMS from an unknown number lures users into a subscription trap.
An SMS asks you to contact an unknown company via a link
Behind the link, users expect a supposed profit from the media market.
However, this is just a trick: it involves a very expensive subscription.
In a rather meaningless SMS, users are asked to contact an unnamed company because they cannot be reached, along with a cryptic link that also says nothing about the sender.

If you tap on the link, you will be taken to a page that claims to be from Media Markt and that you have won a prize:

You then have the choice between a MacBook, a Samsung smartphone and a QLED TV; you only have to pay small shipping costs of 1 - 2 euros.
The subscription trap
Of course, as a user you are tempted to quickly tap “Order now”, but you should first scroll down a little further, because in the small print you can see what it’s really about:

All new customers take part in the raffle for the campaign product shown. If you are one of the lucky winners, you will be contacted directly by email. This special offer includes a 3-day trial of an affiliated subscription service. Your credit card will then automatically be charged the monthly subscription fee (90 EUR). If for any reason you are not satisfied with the service, you may cancel with 3 days' notice. The subscription renews monthly unless canceled. This campaign expires on December 31, 2020.

I have provided my details – what can I do?
If there is contact information, you can try to cancel the subscription. Demands immediate cancellation and refund of debited amounts.
If you do not receive an answer, you should contact the credit card company as soon as possible, explain the situation and request a refund of the debited amounts. You should also try to block the subscription provider from further debits from your credit card, if this is possible.
