Attila Hildmann, the right-wing conspiracy teller, has been on the run from an international arrest warrant for more than two years. However, according to information from the Berlin public prosecutor's office, Turkey will not extradite him.
Sebastian Büchner, spokesman for the Attorney General's Office, informed the German Press Agency on Thursday, April 20, 2023 that the Federal Office of Justice had confirmed the decision. The Turkish embassy informed Germany that Hildmann had Turkish citizenship and would therefore not be extradited.
The Berlin public prosecutor's office has been investigating Hildmann, who describes himself as an "ultra-right" and conspiracy preacher, for some time. The charges against him include sedition, suspicion of public incitement to crime and resistance to law enforcement officers. Since the first months of the corona pandemic, the former vegan cookbook author has been noticed on the messaging service Telegram for his increasingly open anti-Semitism.
Attila Hildmann: on the run since the end of December 2020!
Hildmann has been on the run since the end of December 2020 and is hiding in Turkey. There is an international arrest warrant against him, which, according to Büchner, remains valid.
“As long as he is in Turkey, we cannot catch him ,” explained the spokesman. The public prosecutor's office is convinced that the 41-year-old was supplied with internal information about the investigations against him from within his own ranks.
The authorities accuse two sisters of violating official secrets. The former employees of the public prosecutor's office and the public prosecutor's office are said to have informed Hildmann about the arrest warrant against him in February 2021. The public prosecutor's office is demanding criminal orders against the 33- and 35-year-old women, who should be sentenced to fines of 2,700 euros (180 daily rates of 15 euros each) and 3,500 euros (70 daily rates of 50 euros each).
Initially, the authorities assumed that Hildmann also had a Turkish passport and therefore the arrest warrant could not be executed. However, doubts arose later. For about a year, prosecutors believed that Hildmann only had German citizenship, based on inquiries from Turkish authorities and further investigations by the Federal Criminal Police Office, as reported last October.
The current communication from Turkey raises questions. “We don’t know how the opposite information comes about ,” said Büchner on Thursday. Hildmann was born in West Berlin to Turkish parents, but grew up with German adoptive parents.

Press release: Penalty orders against sisters who are said to have warned Attila H. about an arrest warrant
At the request of the Berlin Public Prosecutor's Office, criminal orders are issued against a 33-year-old woman and her 35-year-old sister, who, as employees of the Berlin Public Prosecutor's Office and the Berlin Public Prosecutor's Office, are said to have informed the cook and conspiracy teller Attila H. of an arrest warrant against him was issued by the Tiergarten District Court for violation of official secrets.
The 33-year-old employee of the IT department of the Attorney General's Office is said to have used her home office laptop to query the registry system on the morning of November 2, 2020 to see which proceedings were being conducted against Attila H. She is said to have sent him the corresponding list via a messenger - combined with the offer to keep him up to date, with information on the size of the file at the time and the name of the responsible public prosecutor. On February 18 or 19, 2021, she is said to have informed him and an unknown user of the Telegram messenger service that an arrest warrant had been issued. The application is for the imposition of a total fine of 180 daily rates of 15 euros each.
The 35-year-old sister worked as a reproductive technology specialist at the public prosecutor's office and was entrusted with copying files. On February 23, 2021, she is said to have taken the opportunity of a corresponding copying order to take photos of the arrest warrant against Attila H. that was in the file and to send them to him. A fine of 70 daily rates of 50 euros each is requested.
Both women were released from duty after the allegations became known and are no longer working for the Berlin law enforcement authorities. The penalty orders are not yet legally binding.
