“Pack your things and go!” This is what is emblazoned on a street sign that the company says should be in Australia.
So that people in Central Europe can also understand the inscription on the signs, this text was translated into German and distributed in the form of a sharepic. But do these types of signs really exist in Australia? Let's look at the origin and the creation of this picture.
You only notice it at second glance, but this image has a small watermark. It is a small sign with the letters FOSP. To do this, you can query Google and, based on the character of the image, combine which of the search results this image could belong to. The result then becomes clear quite quickly: It comes from a Facebook page called Freedom of Speech Productions .
According to the operators (we haven't guessed that yet), this Facebook page is a platform on which “right-wing political views” are to be discussed. This information can be found in the information tab of the Facebook page:
Started in 2013, this page provides a platform to discuss right wing political views.
This discussion is accompanied by a large number of sharepics that are Islamophobic and generally anti-migrant. In this context you will also find (if you search for a really long time) the Sharepic, which was published on February 20, 2017. In this original version, of course, without the German subtitles:
Is that real now?
FOSP has several of these signs on its Facebook page, all of which carry this message ( compare ). The texts for all of these images were of course changed by FOSP; the originals can be found on the web using the image search. The picture above is actually a sign indicating oversized trucks.
This image is from a series of images uploaded to Imgur on April 19, 2015 By the way, this series of pictures entitled “Outback Trucking Australia” shows these extra-long trucks that are allowed to drive in Australia.
