The claim
A video of tanks being loaded onto wagons in Austria is shared on Facebook. The accompanying texts give the impression that these tanks are going to Ukraine and that Austria is therefore violating neutrality laws.
Our conclusion
Incorrect! The tanks come from a nearby barracks and were loaded onto the railway for transport to a military exercise.
A video is currently circulating on Facebook that shows tanks loaded onto wagons on a track. Location: Haid near Schärding. Time: midday on September 2nd. The claim: this is military equipment for the conflict in Ukraine, which is being transported through Austria.

Text to the original video: “Just passing through Schärding behind Weyland!?” Many users on Facebook readily pick up on this spin and add more details to the rumor. An excerpt from the comments under the distributed video reads like this: (sic)
“So Austria is so neutral??!!!”
“I recommend everyone to read the Austrian State Treaty, then you will know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! “
“The mess is the same”
“The evil Russians get a delivery of treasures from Amazon”
“Jo de mecht di daschiassn mit de ponza”
Are those Austrian tanks standing here?
Or even some from abroad that are transported through Austria? This question is very easy to answer. Right at the beginning of the video, some details on the rear of the war machine catch the eye: an Austrian flag and the tactical symbol of the unit to which this tank belongs: Panzergrenadier Battalion 13 , stationed in Ried im Innkreis. This barracks is about 30 kilometers from the place where the video was recorded: Haid, a district of St. Florian am Inn, near Schärding.
Why were the tanks in Haid?
Were they moved for an exercise? And if so, were you on the way there or on the way back? contacted the battalion command in Ried and the press office Until an official response arrives, we will have to be content with the bits and pieces of information and conjectures from those who responded to the shared video on Facebook: (sic)
“Own tanks when laying the track from an exercise or to an exercise.
Where is the reason to add fuel to the fire? Are we not allowed to practice in Ö any more?" "They would be taken to Allentsteig for a big exercise!!
#Fakenews” “These are the armored personnel carriers from the 13th.
They were released on September 1st. loaded in station Ried and transported via Schärding. There must have been 2 Pinzgauer off-road vehicles on it.” “This morning, we drove past Marchtrenk. I told my colleagues that we were taking our mini toys for a walk” (comment from September 3rd)

Update: September 8, 2022
The command of the 4th Panzer Grenadier Brigade, to which the battalion in Ried is subordinate, has now answered our query and confirmed our suspicions:
The article in question is about: Several ULAN infantry fighting vehicles from the 13th Panzergrenadier Battalion from RIED in the INNKREIS.
These were loaded onto a special ÖBB transport to be taken to ALLENTSTEIG for the 4th Panzergrenadier Brigade's formation exercise called “HANDWERK22”.

Conclusion
The video has absolutely nothing to do with the war in Ukraine. The tanks are stationed in Austria and are transported by train for military exercises within Austria. Here are a few impressions of this exercise, the Austrian Armed Forces writes about it on its Facebook page:
60 tank soldiers from the militia and basic military servants reinforce the active squad of Panzer Battalion 14 at the Allentsteig military training area during the hot phase of the exercise “Handwerk22”. The command of the 4th Armored Grenadier Brigade and its five battalions are taking part in the brigade exercise with all available forces.
