The claim

Annalena Baerbock allegedly said: “Only those who speak clear language are able to offer ravioli to the other person.”

Our conclusion

The saying has been floating around the internet for several years, without Baerbock as a source. There is no evidence that she said the saying in a speech or in an interview.

Politicians as a person are often badmouthed on political sharepics, both from the left and the right - whether it's bad clothing or bad behavior. Nonsensical quotes are also often reproduced, but these should at least be real... which doesn't apply in this case: Annalena Baerbock didn't say "Ravioli" instead of "Paroli" in reference to clear language, but it's a joke that's years old.

The sharepic with the wrong Baerbock quote

This sharepic with the alleged Baerbock quote has been shared since mid-May:

Not a real quote from Annalena Baerbock
Not a real quote from Annalena Baerbock

According to the sharepic, Baerbock is said to have said:

“Only those who speak clear language are able to offer ravioli to the other person.”

The correct phrase would have been “stand up to” (take on someone, defend yourself)… if she had ever said that.

Source: None

As usual, there is no source provided by the Sharepics distributors. Whatever the point, it is believed in the relevant circles anyway that nothing needs to be proven. So the only thing left is to do your own search, because if Annalena Baerbock actually promised herself to be so funny, it can definitely be found as a video or at least as a trustworthy transcript or in an article somewhere.

But none of this is true: the politician cannot be verified as a source Google Genios database A Google image search, however, shows that the saying has been found repeatedly on Sharepics for several years - without Baerbock as a source.

The saying is several years old
The saying is several years old

Conclusion

It's a saying that has been floating around the internet in the form of sharepics for several years. There is no proof that Baerbock said this in a speech or in an interview - it is used solely to ridicule Baerbock as a person.
