The claim
In the photo you can see a bakery with an oversized note attached to its window saying that the shop is closed because it is “not immediately insolvent” because energy is “totally expensive”.
Our conclusion
The photo is not real, but was taken by a satirical magazine as a reaction to Habeck's answers to “Maischberger”.
Recently, the Federal Minister of Economics Robert Habeck expressed himself in a very confusing manner at “Maischberger” when he was asked about a possible impending wave of insolvencies at the end of the winter ( we reported ). Part of his answer, according to which, for example, a bakery does not go bankrupt just because it no longer sells goods, was then commented on by the political satirical magazine extra 3 with a snappy photo - which many actually believe to be real.
The popular photo of the bakery
The photo is often shared on Facebook and Twitter without the satirical magazine's logo, here are two screenshots:
In the photo you can see a bakery with an oversized note attached to its window. The note says:
“Closed due to not being insolvent, but energy is very expensive and we can't charge 7 euros for a loaf of bread.
We will be there for you again in spring.
Or maybe not."
The source of the photo
As already mentioned above: The photo is not real, but was taken by the political satirical magazine extra 3 as a reaction to Habeck's statements in “Maischberger”.
Conclusion
The photo is not real, but was taken by a satirical magazine as a reaction to Habeck's answers to “Maischberger”.
