There she is again! The good old newspaper advertisement from the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees. A hit since 2017 and a fake since then. We clarify!

The summary about extras and the Federal Office:

An advertisement keeps appearing on social media that is attributed to the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees. This ad is a fake and comes from a fake account on Twitter that has now been deleted.

No, there are no jobs as extras for the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees! Even if a screenshot of a newspaper advertisement is supposed to represent something different.

Apparently the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) is looking for extras for demonstrations against the right. This is the content of the advertisement, the screenshot of which has been on social media since March 2017.

And that's the point: don't forget social media! And that's why such fakes keep appearing and are believed again and again. Accordingly, many people have probably seen the following picture before:

Fake: BAMF is looking for extras

Fact check extras and BAMF

We repeat: This is a very old “newspaper clipping” that is fake. Since 2017 we have had to report on this fake several times because it has repeatedly appeared in small waves ( compare ).

This fake originated on the now blocked Twitter account “Daily Fake News”. At the time, this account had the self-description “Satirical Daily News”.

Upon request, the BAMF made it clear to us that the Federal Office was not looking for extras for a video shoot. We expressly distance ourselves from the fake ad. Real job offers from the BAMF can be found on their website .
