In a world where information and news travel faster than ever before, it is sometimes difficult to distinguish fact from fiction. Mimikama has been a reliable partner in the fight against fake news and disinformation for over 12 years. But we know that we cannot win this fight alone. That's why we invite you to become part of our growing community of “fake hunters”.
The rebirth of our Facebook group
To get closer to this goal, we have decided to reactivate our original Facebook group. Here you can not only make inquiries to us DIRECTLY, but also actively participate in the fact check and become a “fake hunter”. The group is called “Mimikama – Fact or Fake? “The community researches here” and can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/mimikama
Together against misinformation
The idea is simple but powerful: each of us can help combat misinformation. You can research topics that particularly interest you and share your results with the community. Not only will you expand your knowledge, but you will also help others make informed decisions.
Your research, our article
But it gets even better! If an investigation you have carried out proves to be particularly valuable, we would like to publish it as an article on our website. This way, your hard work can reach an even larger audience and have an even greater impact.
Why should you join?
You may be wondering why you should become a “fake hunter.” The answer is simple: we live in a time where information means power. And the more accurate and reliable this information is, the better. As a “fake hunter” you contribute to improving the information field and making society better. You become part of a community that stands up for the truth.
Conclusion: We look forward to seeing you!
The truth is often complex and multi-layered. But with your help, we can better understand this complexity and separate truth from fiction. We look forward to welcoming you to our community of “fake hunters”. Together we can make a difference. Join us and become part of our mission to spread the truth!
Something else important!
Our group rules: For respectful interaction and safe exchange
To ensure that our exchange remains constructive, respectful and safe, we have established some group rules that all members should follow:
- Safety first: When you make a request, please make sure that you do not post any “harmful” links! Instead, take a screenshot and post it. It may happen that we do not publish all requests directly, but instead send a message directly to the requester with the answer. This happens when there is a risk that other users could fall into a trap.
- Respectful cooperation: Each member has a different level of knowledge. We therefore treat each other with respect. Insults or hurtful terms have no place with us. First, every member deserves our respect.
- Zero tolerance for misconduct: Anyone who uses a different tone, insults others or attracts negative attention will be removed from the group. This also applies to users who support such status posts with likes and comments.
- No fake accounts: People with fake accounts or accounts without a profile picture will not be included in the group. Anyone who cannot show themselves to us has no place in our community.
- Report rule violations: Any member can report posts that violate rules or appear inappropriate to the administrators. Simply click on the arrow at the top right of the relevant post and report it to an administrator.
- Maintain humanity: Please never forget that there are people on the other side. Anyone who negatively influences the mood within the group in any way will be blocked.
- Enforcement of Rules: We are accountable to no one and will enforce the group rules at all times without further explanation or justification. We also do not provide any information about the measures taken. Violations of the rules can lead to permanent exclusion. We also reserve the right to report criminally relevant issues.
We look forward to a respectful and fruitful exchange in our community. Together we can build a strong network against misinformation. Join us and become part of our mission to spread the truth!
