Fraudsters are currently posing as Facebook and using this nasty scam to crack Facebook profiles, Facebook pages and Facebook groups!

At the moment, many Facebook page operators are receiving an email. The sender, it seems, is Facebook!

This email, which was written in English, tells the user that unusual activity has been detected on their Facebook page. Facebook itself has therefore blocked the respective Facebook page. If you don't respond by following a link in the email, the page would remain permanently deactivated! The sender: “Facebook noreply@facebook-support.com” This is the email:

Danger!

Even if there is a link to Facebook in the email, DO NOT be fooled! This is a fake email sent by internet fraudsters. Behind the reference there is a link that leads to an “APP” that was created by the fraudsters and submitted to Facebook. Why Facebook even allowed this app is a mystery to us!

You can see this immediately as soon as you move your mouse over the link:

If you took the content as true and clicked on the link, you would end up on the following website:

Scammers work on the fear of the respective user, because who wants to lose their Facebook page? If you were to fill out this form, you would provide your full name, telephone number, email address, Facebook password, birthday, etc.

At the end, the user is automatically redirected to the real Facebook page. For the user, it seems as if everything was going well.

But that's not the case, because within a few minutes the account can be cracked and all pages and groups for which the respective user is an admin can be taken over.

A notice:

  • Facebook NEVER sends its users emails with a link that does NOT lead directly to www.facebook.com.
  • Facebook NEVER requests personal data in this form.
  • Facebook does not send emails in English to German-speaking users!
