What happened next is simply worth writing down in its entirety here.
The Soesterin was then sent to a shop to buy eggs. The “karma representative” took one of the eggs. The Soester woman had to spit on the egg so that the stranger could then wrap it in a handkerchief and put it in her jacket pocket. After a while, the fraudster pulled the egg out of her pocket again, looked at it closely and noticed a “black soul” in the egg.
In order to drive away the bad karma, a piece of string was first torn and then tied back together. Then a second unknown woman appeared. She went home with the victim to get all of her cash and jewelry.
With a hefty sum of cash and some gold jewelry, we then met up with the “karma representative” again in the parking lot. With great fanfare, she wrapped the valuables in a towel and gave them back to the soester. She should keep the package under her pillow for nine days. During this time she was not allowed to change her underwear and had to drink three drops of a certain water every day. The senior citizen did this until Friday of last week. On that day, the victim was visited by her own daughter. She told him the story. A quick look at the towel package showed that there was no cash or jewelry, just shredded paper.
Both women then went to the police and filed a report.
With this scam, fraudsters also gain emotional access to their victims. Whether via WhatsApp or through direct communication in your native language, emotional situations are built up and then shamelessly used for fraud. The criminal police always strongly advise caution when strangers are too concerned.
