The city of Braunschweig has denied the existence of such instructions in schools and published the following information on September 20, 2022:
Clarification: No letter from the city to schools - the heating season has already begun.
With reference to an alleged information from the city of Braunschweig to a school, the news is being spread on the Internet that the heating systems in the schools in Braunschweig would not be switched on until November 1st. The city of Braunschweig states: This is not correct. The city did not send such a letter to schools. On the contrary, due to the weather, heating began yesterday in the daycare centers and primary schools and from today in all other schools.
In the summer, the city planned to adjust the start of the heating season from the beginning of October to the beginning of November as a possible savings measure, but only if the weather permitted this.
However, due to the current temperatures, it has now been decided to bring forward the start of the heating season. City of Braunschweig
