A letter is currently being shared on social media, which is intended to show the city of Braunschweig's rules of conduct for the population towards the upcoming AfD federal party conference in the city.

AfD federal party conference will take place in the Volkswagen Hall in Braunschweig from November 30th to December 1st, 2019 . This is the party's 10th federal party conference.

The choice of locations for different party conferences has not always been easy for the AfD in the past; there were always rejections for different rooms ( compare ).

But this party conference in Braunschweig is now set, but a letter has appeared in advance that claims to come from the city of Braunschweig. This letter contains behavioral information for the city's population.

These rules of conduct state that one should not provoke the “ethnic national right” by shouting left-wing slogans, wearing clothing that can be assigned to the left-wing spectrum, listening to music by artists “who are directed against the AfD”, no headscarves, etc wearing other non-Christian symbols and not displaying lifestyles that are not traditionally heterosexual.

Furthermore, there should be no parking in the area around the Volkswagen Hall so that there is enough space for the party members.

Fact check letter from Braunschweig

The letter is a fake. It was not distributed by the city of Braunschweig; the name and logo are being misused. For example, the department and telephone number of the responsible office are missing from the letterhead. It is neither signed nor does it correspond to the design templates of official letters from the city.

Apart from minor typographical errors (“Further Requests”), the print quality is not particularly high; you can see smear marks that indicate a laser printer.

We have also contacted the citizens' office of the city of Braunschweig. There we were assured that this letter had not been created and therefore not distributed.

The city of Braunschweig reacted in the same way and published on Twitter that this was a fake. A criminal complaint has already been filed against unknown persons.

Fake, but why?

If you read the letter more closely, if you really look at it carefully, the description of your behavior gives the impression that you should behave in exactly the opposite way. According to this thesis, the aim of the letter is that the letter should be read and understood in exactly the opposite way.

In this case, the letter would be a false flag campaign, because it would not be the AfD or supporters of the AfD who were behind the fake, but rather opponents of the AfD who, with this letter, were providing hidden instructions for protesting against the party conference in Braunschweig.

It is initially uncertain who is the author of this letter. The fact is that the city of Braunschweig did not write this letter or distribute it. It would not be the first time that the AfD has been accompanied by false flag actions .
