A recurring picture board causes confusion. This is what the “standards of sex education” are all about:
We repeatedly receive requests for images that apparently come from the Federal Center for Health Education.
This is about the recommended standards for sex education:

The Federal Center for Health Education recommends standards for sex education with these topics in depth:
0 – 4 years Early childhood masturbation
4 – 6 years Masturbation, homosexuality
6 – 9 years Sexual intercourse, contraception, desire
9 – 12 years Gender orientation
12 – 15 years Everything about the topic of “sex”WHO Regional Office for Europe and BZgA
Standards for Sexuality Education in Europe, Cologne 2011gender-mich-nicht.de is a campaign by the weekly newspaper JUNGE FREIHEIT jf.de
The fact check
We have received this “recommendation” several times in the past, but with a different image. There was also the claim that the aim to make children more accessible to pedophiles .
The following document can be downloaded from the website of the Federal Center for Health Education: WHO-BzgA standards
You can find the statements from above in the matrix from page 41 onwards. When mimikama team member Beate asked the BZgA press office, we received the following answer:
The “Standards for Sexuality Education in Europe” were developed by the Federal Center for Health Education (BZgA) and the World Health Organization (Regional Office for Europe) together with an international group of experts.
The aim of this framework is to support health and education experts in promoting the sexual health of children and young people and, among other things, protecting them from sexual abuse. These standards are neither to be understood as guidelines for sex education lessons in Germany nor as a collection of methods for use in schools.
Rather, the document provides central background information on theories, concepts and definitions in the field of sexual and reproductive health as well as sexuality education and also provides practical assistance for the development of curricula. These sexuality education topics listed in the curriculum are based on the psychosexual development of children and young people and the reality of their lives.
Often, images posted on social media in this thematic context are not brochures or other documents from the Federal Center for Health Education (BZgA) but rather statements from the “Standards for Sexuality Education in Europe” that have been distorted or taken out of context.
If the BZgA's rights are violated through the posting of documents, etc., the BZgA will generally take action against these rights violations to the extent legally possible.
Upon further inquiry, we received further confirmation that the requested image material was not an official BZgA document, but that passages from the “Standards for Sexuality Education” were presented in a distorted sense and taken out of context.
Result:
The “Standards for Sexuality Education” – published by the Federal Center for Health Education (BZgA), the World Health Organization (Regional Office for Europe) and developed together with an international group of experts – exist.
However, the images, some of which are circulating very persistently on Facebook, are not part of these documents. Here someone has extracted text passages from the actual document and added images.
