Numerous media outlets reported that Bruce Willis announced the end of his acting career because he was suffering from aphasia.
This is a disease that affects the ability to communicate. It can affect speaking, but also the way you write and understand spoken and written language. It is now claimed that aphasia is also a side effect specifically of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine and that Willis became ill for this reason. However, this can be refuted by several facts!

The claim

The claim that Willis has aphasia due to a COVID-19 vaccination is circulating on social networks, as it is supposedly listed as a side effect of the Pfizer vaccine, here are two examples:

“Aphasia is listed as an adverse effect by Pfizer.
I'm just saying... Once you know all the vaccine damage from the nonsense vaccinations, you'll see them everywhere."

The basis of the claim, a PDF file, is even linked there. We'll take a closer look at these right away.

The fact check

There are several reasons why the actor's aphasia was caused by a COVID-19 vaccination. We will now go through this step by step, starting with the first, supposed piece of evidence: the PDF file with the attachment about “Adverse Events of Special Interest”.

The PDF document

You can download and view the document for yourself HERE . It is titled “ Cumulative Analysis of Post-Authorization Adverse Reactions – Reports of PF-07302048 (BNT162B2) Received by February 28, 2021. ” Specifically, it is a safety surveillance report from the first three months after approval, which contains a nine-page appendix listing adverse events of particular interest.

On page 30 of the document you can actually read “aphasia” under the heading “Adverse Events of Special Interest”. The error begins with the fact that only the word “aphasia” was marked or taken into account, but not the two words before it, which is what we do here:

MIMIKAMA
So it should be marked correctly

It says “Acquired epileptic aphasia”. This is not the aphasia that affects Bruce Willis, but rather the so-called Landau-Kleffner syndrome , a form of aphasia that can affect children between the ages of 2 and 8. Within a few days to weeks, combined with epileptic seizures, the child's age-appropriate language skills are lost.

But mentioning this form of aphasia is still worrying: Is this a side effect of the Pfizer vaccine? No, because two terms are being confused here: There is a difference between an “adverse event” and a “side effect”!

A simple example:
If someone reports a toothache after a vaccination, then this is an adverse event, but not necessarily a side effect because there is no causal relationship. Only when an adverse event is reported with an above-average frequency does the review begin to determine whether it is a side effect.

The document simply lists all reported adverse events that have been reported. But the document itself also states:

“A cluster of adverse event reports (AERs) does not necessarily indicate that a particular AE was caused by the drug; rather, the event may be due to an underlying disease or one or more other factors, such as: B. a previous medical history or concomitant medication.”

“But there is a case of aphasia after vaccination!”

This is also often claimed, and in fact there is even a medical article about it that appeared in June 2021 (see HERE ).

However, many people who cite this article as evidence do not seem to have actually read it, because it clearly shows that aphasia occurred in a 52-year-old man seven days after a second vaccination with an mRNA vaccine , but this occurred after he suffered a hemorrhagic stroke – a common cause of aphasia.

There was no evidence that the stroke was caused by the vaccination, and the man's aphasia resolved after a few days.

It would be really nice if it were as simple for Bruce Willis as it was for this single case in which aphasia actually occurred in connection with a vaccination. But here we come to the next point:

When was Bruce Willis vaccinated?

In January 2021, Willis was criticized for being seen in a store without a protective mask, which is why some people believed at the time that Willis was against coronavirus protective measures. However, Willis apologized exclusively in an article in People : “It was a misjudgment. Everyone be safe out there and let’s keep wearing the masks.”

Willis has never officially discussed his vaccination status, but it is more than likely that he is vaccinated. Reason: The US has specific COVID-19 safety guidelines for film, television and theater actors (see HERE ). Although vaccinations are not required, any producer may still require vaccinations when acting with other people - which applies to actors in general.

Since Willis has been very active in many films since 2020 (see HERE ), it can be assumed that he is also vaccinated - otherwise some Hollywood insider would certainly have revealed that he was not vaccinated, since he was also with a large number of people had to do.

In addition, he has certainly not only been vaccinated for a few days, but since 2021. However, since his aphasia has only now become known, it cannot be a side effect of a COVID-19 vaccination.

“But maybe he got it as a side effect but only announced it now!”

Good question if you want to believe that his aphasia is a side effect.
However, there is a small catch: the first signs of his aphasia appeared in 2020, when there were no COVID-19 vaccinations yet!

the “ Los Angeles Times ” lets a number of directors who have worked with Willis in recent years have their say. Their stories show that Willis had been having problems remembering texts since 2020 and was behaving abnormally.

For example, Mike Burns, the director of Out of Death, wrote in a June 2020 email to the screenwriter of the film Out of Death : “ It looks like we need to increase Bruce's page count by about 5 pages shorten. We also have to shorten his dialogues a little so that there are no monologues etc. “.

Stuart F. Wilson, Willis' stunt double, talked about small earphones, called "earworms" in the film, that Willis wore during scenes over the past two years through which his lines, which he always forgot, were whispered to him. Wilson wasn't surprised by this, since Willis was very busy and couldn't always remember all the texts. Willis was also replaced by his action double in most action scenes, especially those involving choreographed gunfights, after he shot the wrong way in a scene during the filming of " Hard Kill " in 2020. Luckily there were no injuries.

Director Jesse V. Johnson was advised by a film crew to always finish filming with Willis by lunch and to let him leave early. According to some crew members, Willis was often confused in 2020, for example when he asked that he knew why the crew was there, but didn't know why he was there.

Conclusion

The claim that Bruce Willis developed aphasia from a COIVD-19 vaccination is nonsensical:

  • The aphasia listed in the paper is a different form than the one Willis has
  • It's not even listed as a side effect, but rather as a reported adverse event
  • Aphasia was only reported once after vaccination; there was no connection
  • Willis was most likely vaccinated early in 2021
  • Willis began to experience the first signs of aphasia in 2020
