And again we received inquiries about a dubious online shop. Here too, high-quality technology is offered at incredibly low prices.

An alert user sent us the following request:

Hello,
I read your post about the fake online shop and I think there are currently a lot of these fake shops on Facebook.
(And I probably “fell into the trap” myself. The website www.camerasale.club as well as the copy at http://eu.dealshu.club/nxw1.php and
http://www.camerabestsales.club/

Can you check that?

And this is what the website camerasale.club looks like:

The fact check

What is interesting is the fact that there are at least two other versions of this page. On the one hand at the website address cameralovershop.club and on the other hand at camerabestsales.club.

Both websites are very similar to camerasale.club. Prices and goods offered are exactly the same. The design also differs only minimally.

If you run all three web addresses through the Whois , you will notice that all three have the same registrar, “GoDaddy.com, Inc.” All three also come from Fife, USA. Furthermore, the registration data provides interesting results, because camerabestsale.club was registered on 2018-05-22, camerasale.club on 2018-05-24 and cameralovershop.club has only been around since 2018-07-02. Coincidence?

Let's take a closer look at camerasale.club:

The site offers instant cameras from Fujifilm, Polaroid and HP products at incredibly low prices.

Instead of just under 70 euros, the Instax cameras cost a lousy 18.87 euros, and the HP pocket printers also shine (or perhaps dazzle?) with a price reduction of around 100 euros - with an instead of 129.99 euros to 30, 78 euros… and these dumping prices can be found for every single product offered on the site. Usually a strong sign of a fake shop.

Who really runs the shop is not revealed either. You'll look in vain for an imprint When it comes to online shops that don't make it transparent about who is really selling here, a healthy level of mistrust is definitely appropriate.

If you look around the “Shipping & Return”, “Privacy Notice” and “Payment” sections, you will also notice the interesting spelling, where each word begins with a capital letter. Unfortunately, it cannot be adequately answered whether this is a special marketing strategy to stand out from the crowd.

poor spelling could also indicate a dubious site operator. In any case, the Terms

The fact that you only pay by credit card . If only one payment option is offered, alarm bells should ring! If payment is , credit card details and possibly the money are often gone, never to be seen again.

Result:

A clear purchase recommendation must be avoided, as many points point to a classic fake shop.

As a rule, webshops without an imprint and proper terms and conditions not trustworthy.

I fell for a fake shop – what can I do?

The consumer advice center advises all victims to take the following measures:

  • Anyone who has already transferred money should immediately ask their bank reverse the payment . This is usually still possible a few hours after an online order. With other payment methods such as direct debit, the payment can be reversed up to eight weeks after collection. You also have to contact your bank about this.
  • All receipts for the online order should be collected and secured. This includes the purchase contract, order confirmation, emails and a screenshot of the offer.
  • Legally, such an approach is fraud. have the printed documents checked by the nearest consumer advice center a criminal complaint with the police. This is also possible online .
Note: Unfortunately, cybercriminals are often difficult to prosecute, especially if they are located abroad. File a criminal complaint anyway! At least this way the fake page can be deleted!
