Attempted child abductions in the Euskirchen district!!!! Split !!!!
Hello people, as you may have read somewhere, there are several attempts to lure children into cars in the Euskirchen district.
The same happened yesterday here in Kommern. Our L. came running home and reports about a man with dark hair and a beard who asked him to get out of a dark car at the roundabout!!!! Yes, it probably doesn’t always just happen somewhere else and on the radio…. The police confirmed to us about several cases in the Eifel [...]
Visually, the posting appears in the following form:

Fact check: This is what the police say about it!
In a press release, the Wittlich police commented on attempted child abductions. This press release corresponds to the statement in the second part of the warning on Facebook, which speaks of several cases in the Eifel. There is now also a report for the Euskirchen district (see end of text).
In the press report from the Wittlich police we first learn that concerned parents reported to the Daun police station on January 10th. They said that their daughter was approached by a man from a car shortly after 4 p.m. on the way home near Immerath. He asked the girl to get in.
With presence of mind, the child ran away in the direction of the cemetery, with the vehicle briefly following her. When she arrived home, the girl revealed herself to her mother, who immediately informed the police.

The vehicle was said to be a dark-colored car, possibly a Golf 4, with no license plates attached. The car was occupied by two light-skinned men, one with black hair and the other with brown hair.
In a similar case, the parents of a child from Oberöfflingen contacted the police station in Wittlich yesterday afternoon. At around 1:15 p.m., a man approached her daughter from a dark small car and asked her to get in.
In this case the child also behaved correctly. He didn't get in, but ran home and immediately told his parents about the incident. They informed the police.
Here, too, two men were sitting in the vehicle, which at least did not have a front license plate attached. The girl describes the inmates as light-skinned. The driver had black hair and was around 20 years old. The passenger had blonde hair, was wearing a black hat and a light green sweatshirt. The car followed the child to his home.
In both cases, the immediate search by the Daun and Wittlich police was negative. The Wittlich Criminal Investigation Department has taken over further investigations in both cases.
The police expressly praise the children's behavior. In such cases, the right thing to do is not to get into a stranger's car, run away and, if necessary, loudly draw attention to yourself. Children should then reveal themselves directly to their parents or trusted people. They should then inform the police immediately.

The Euskirchen police have also written a message about this topic on Facebook. In it you read:
addressed to students? Police follow up on clues - website set up with help for action
The Euskirchen police are following up on information that students from the Dahlem and Mechernich areas were said to have been approached by unknown people on their way to school.
Last Thursday around 1:25 p.m. two unknown people approached a nine-year-old girl. One of the two is said to have touched the child on the shoulder on the way home. The girl kicked a man in the shin and ran home. She told her parents, who filed a criminal complaint.
In the second case, yesterday, Tuesday (January 28, 2020), a seven-year-old student was in Mechernich at Becherhofer Weg / roundabout in the direction of Rewe at around 12:15 p.m. An unknown man had stopped at a cigarette machine. He is said to have asked the boy whether he wanted to go along. The boy then ran away.
Corresponding investigations have been started. Criminal relevance is currently being examined in all cases. In addition, colleagues from the district service are available to students, parents and school representatives if they have any questions.
▶ The Euskirchen police ask you to note the following:
Simply speaking to children does not in itself constitute a crime. Even offering sweets or the like does not necessarily have to be a preparatory act for a crime. It could also be a careless but unwise gesture by an adult.
Nevertheless, there are always situations in which children are addressed and it is not clear what the purpose of the approach is. The police therefore take each of these tips very seriously.
▶ The Euskirchen police ask:
Do not spread unsecured information, especially on social media. These take on a life of their own and are more likely to scare parents and children.
Parents and teachers can find help on the Euskirchen police website.
