700 euros Christmas bonus for all refugees! That's what it says on the internet, so it must be true. At least that's what you might think, but it's a fake.
The Christmas bonus for refugees. This old fake has been coming to the table just in time for autumn for years. What was originally an article on a fake website is now only a screenshot on WhatsApp or Facebook.
And anyone who thinks these are old postings will be proven wrong by new discoveries: Yes, users are also distributing this old fake in autumn 2019!

But the absurdity of it can hardly be surpassed: the view that there is a €700 Christmas bonus for refugees has now become so widespread that it is spread purely in text form without a link to a fake website or even a screenshot.
Fact check Christmas bonus for refugees
At this point we can only repeat what we published last year about this screenshot and the (now deleted) fake web article:
The screenshot was taken from an article on the website called “nachrichten.de.com”. This website is a created fake news site that is intended to provide entertainment. There you are asked to write fake news. At the time, you could read under the article on the website that you should create your own joke:

In the past we have repeatedly dealt with fakes of this site (example here ). It is a sister site with the same structure and function as “24aktuelles” , whose fakes we have often discussed ( all articles here ).
By the way, this topic came up in 2017, that's how old the nonsense is. And at the moment it is being spread unchecked again and is generating a lot of anger.

The federal government also had to clarify
No, this is not a fake at this point: a posting appeared on the German federal government's Facebook page in autumn 2018 that was about exactly this topic. It reads:
#Clarified: Refugees do NOT receive a Christmas bonus. There are currently deliberate false reports circulating on social media that claim the opposite. The federal government makes it clear:
