Affiliate marketing is not illegal, but in many cases it is misleading. Private profiles on Facebook often post advertising without knowing it.
After the message was supposedly posted by a friend or acquaintance, many users trust the status post and follow the instructions in it. In this case, a special code for Google should lead to real wealth:
The text is posted on behalf of a user. This can most likely happen due to unwanted extensions or access permissions from third-party apps. These also include the popular quiz or fun apps that generate something based on the information in your profile picture. The text reads as follows:
Hello everyone! A few days ago I saw an advertisement on TV promoting a promotional offer from one of the online casinos. It turns out that with a minimum deposit of €50 you get a welcome bonus of €250 and 120 free spins. I made a deposit of €50 and was able to play for €300. I was a bit lucky and was able to win €9,800, which I paid out immediately. The transfer arrived in my account on the second day. The special code is >>> CAS729X5DE Simply enter it into Google and click on the first link in the results. The offer only runs until the end of the week...
The fact check
We type the code into Google search and actually only get a single result. This leads to a casino website where the user should register.
In May 2019 we had a very similar case. The text is comparable to this one and the method of luring people to Google via code and then to the website is also the same.

Why a code?
The code is used so that the link to the casino page can only be found “once”. Strictly speaking, it is an affiliate link. This means that if a user finds the casino website via this link, the creator of the affiliate link earns money when they register on the site.
We will explain to you here exactly how affiliate works .
Conclusion:
Basically, this is a marketing ploy to collect new customers for a casino site. If you suspect that a connected third-party app could be to blame, this article might help you .
