Smoking weed against coronavirus? Or alcohol? Does 5G accelerate virus growth? Did Bill Gates patent the virus years ago or is it even intended to curb population growth?
There are a lot of fakes surrounding the SARS-COVID-19 coronavirus. Somehow there will soon be more of them every day, because these fakes work on different levels and therefore always affect people differently.
For example, there is the trolling. Nothing against good trolling, because it is part of internet pop culture. If it's said that smoking weed can stop the coronavirus or that 86 people in a brothel are now in quarantine for two weeks, that's of course fun.

Things get more annoying with chain letters when they are forwarded carelessly. These are usually chain letters that are full of hearsay and don't provide any really helpful information.
But there is another level! It's about conspiracy myths that even attack existing social and political systems. Myths that make pure claims about the coronavirus without any facts. Despite the lack of facts, these are also being spread.
At the moment we are constantly working and clearing up the various false reports. We have even created our own topic category on our website ( click here ). Whether through newspapers, on the radio or on TV, Mimikama takes care of the false reports:
Coronavirus myths
What we say very clearly: Please keep your distance from any hearsay information about the coronavirus. YouTube videos whose creator is anonymous or who have no professional expertise are not good guides.
Chain letters in which you read that an acquaintance knows something about an acquaintance are no better either. Like completely detached tabloid reporting, which in some parts apparently can hardly wait for more cases of infection or even deaths to be reported.

Have you ever noticed that every new case of infection seems to be reported on, but is completely ignored, as many people have already recovered? These numbers appear less often.
Pay attention to official and competent channels!
If you would like to find out about statements and facts about the coronavirus, please use the information from the World Health Organization or the Robert Koch Institute .
