Users are repeatedly tagged for a post on Facebook. The post is a link to an article on how you can make a lot of money in a short time with an investment platform. Below the post there is a comment from another user that it really works and that he has already earned over 2,000 euros with an investment of 250 euros. This is currently reported by the Watchlist Internet.

Criminals spread fake news in your name

Criminals hijack your Facebook account and publish a fake article in your name entitled “How Germans are profiting up to €2,000 a day from the oil crisis”. To ensure that the posting reaches as many people as possible, countless people are tagged. A comment from “you” under the post:

“This really works guys. I've been doing this for a few days, if you're interested. I started with €250 and currently have €2,760 paid out in my bank account, it is very easy to use.”

If you are curious and click on the link, you will end up with a fake article from the Bild newspaper.

The fake article advertises an investment platform. You can supposedly invest in oil stocks fully automatically and without any financial knowledge and make a huge profit in a short period of time. The article claims that a small investment of 250 euros resulted in a profit of over 7,000 euros within 3 days.

At the end of the article you will find a registration form for the trading platform. There you will be asked to provide your name, email address and telephone number.

What happens when I register and deposit?

You end up on a fake investment platform. You will then be motivated to invest money by email or phone call. Supposed financial advisors will give you instructions on the best amounts to invest.

When you deposit you will start making winnings straight away – or so it seems. The advisors will convince you to invest larger amounts.

If you want to withdraw your winnings, this is not possible. The fake advisors will give you different reasons why a payout is not possible. At some point no one will be reachable, your account will be blocked and your deposits will be lost.

Mimikama note

This is a bait that leads to a Bitcoin trap. The oil crisis is used here as a pretext or “opportunity”.

But this is all about online trading with binary options - although a lot of knowledge and experience is necessary to actually make big money. In addition, such platforms do not pay out profits to users, rarely or only partially.
