As our cooperation partner Watchlist-Internet reports , criminals send fraudulent emails in the name of customs and claim that you have to pay customs duties in the form of a Paysafecard. This is the only way your package can be delivered. Ignore such emails, criminals are just trying to get your money.

What's in the email?
We repeatedly report scams in which criminals claim that a package cannot be delivered . In most cases, this will redirect you to a fake postal service or other service page to pay shipping or customs fees.
The email that is currently being sent in large numbers is also about allegedly unpaid customs duties. But instead of having to provide your credit card details, the fraudsters ask for a Paysafecard. To receive the package, you will be asked to purchase such a card online and send the Paysafecard PIN to the criminals.
The wording of these emails is always similar:
From: Deutsche Post
Subject: General Directorate of Customs and Indirect Rights

Attention: If you submit the Paysafecard PIN, the money you paid will be lost. In return, the criminals can freely dispose of this money! Therefore, under no circumstances should you accept the demands.
How do you recognize the fraud?
- Impersonal salutation: In both emails you will be addressed as “Dear Customer” and not your name. This may be a sign that the email is being sent en masse and randomly.
- Incorrect sender addresses: The emails known to us are sent from sender addresses such as noreply@zoll-post.de or Zoll-paket-dienste@Osterreichischer- Zoll.at. If you do a quick search for Austrian customs or the German post office, it becomes clear that these email addresses cannot be correct. If you are still unsure, contact the respective company directly via the homepage and ask whether the email is legitimate.
- Paysafecard: If you are asked to purchase a Paysafecard to pay customs duties, you can ignore the email. Because such a requirement is extremely atypical for public authorities.
Have you already paid?
If you have passed on your Paysafecard PIN, try to block it as quickly as possible. There is a separate form for this on paysafecard.com
