These posts appear to be posted mainly by non-German speaking profiles in Facebook groups that revolve around topics such as recipes. At first glance, this may seem harmless, especially in groups with friendly names like “Grandma's Recipes.” However, a closer look reveals that not everything is as harmless as it seems.
A typical post of this type asks for interaction: “Please – We need your help to stay on this social network. Say something about our posts (yes, delicious or a smile emoticon is enough) or we'll disappear completely."

However, there could be more to this request in Facebook groups than just the desire for interaction
It could be part of a scam tactic known like farming ” or “ comment farming Site operators try to achieve high interaction rates through likes, comments and shares in order to increase the visibility or popularity of their profile or page on Facebook, as the screenshot shows. This post alone has over 24,600 likes, over 5,700 comments and has been shared over 1,400 times. It is also interesting to note that after a certain number of interactions, the comment function is deactivated by the operator or operators!
These questionable posts could be aimed at generating engagement and increasing the reach of the profile or page
The Facebook algorithm interprets interactions as a sign that a post is interesting or valuable to others and therefore shows it to more people. In some cases, site owners could take advantage of this increased visibility to later sell the site or distribute spam or fraudulent content.
Additionally, these posts could serve as a kind of “flag” for future fraud attempts. If you interact with these posts, you could be flagged as a potential target for scammers.
Watch out for these signs that may indicate such scams:
- The posts come from accounts that were created recently and come from abroad. Most of the time, the administrators’ profiles are “locked” and you have no insight into the profile! Facebook offers this function or option in some countries.
- Comments on posts are disabled, making it more difficult to contact the sender.
- The posts contain photos found elsewhere on the Internet through a reverse Google search that are likely unrelated to the post's claimed context.
We found the first picture of the recipe alone countless times on the internet, as this screenshot proves:

The same applies to the second picture

We recommend that all users be careful, even in seemingly “nice” or harmless groups. Check who the administrators or moderators of a group are before joining or interacting with their posts.
We at Mimikama advise you to exercise caution when interacting with such posts. If you come across any suspicious posts, please report them to the social media platform. The platform can delete the post and block the user.
