Data collectors repeatedly try to lure people to an external site with a link and collect data. Like with this text message.
The message looks like this:

Congratulations...
Claim the supermarket voucher today or we'll give it to someone else.
Confirm here:
The bad spelling is noticeable here and the link also seems dubious.
If you follow the link, you will reach the following page:

Here you should enter your email address, tick it and submit it.
If you scroll down a little further, you will find this information:

What is that?
“This isn’t just any new game. Designed by gaming experts, it trains your mind while having fun. Stimulate your brain in ways you never thought possible!”How much is it?
“It's easy to cancel your membership. Membership has a trial period of 3 days. If the membership is not canceled during the trial period, you will be charged eighty-nine euros every 30 days until you cancel your membership.”How do you win?
“All participants automatically take part in the draw for a Lidl €500 voucher. We are giving away one new winner for every 15,000 participants. We will contact the winner directly so that we can arrange delivery of the prize. If the product is not in stock, the winner will receive a similar product.”Still questions?
“If you have any questions or need help, we will be happy to help you from Monday to Friday between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. CET either at the email address info@creditsupport.info (English support) or at the telephone number +44 2037349268 available."
Even if the site shines with Lidl's corporate design, it is a FAKE COMPETITION or a SUBSCRIPTION TRAP. Fraudsters know how to make their appearance as professional as possible.
However, under the heading “How much does it cost” it is pointed out that a membership costs 89 euros per month.
As Watchlist Internet knows, this does not constitute a valid contract:
Simply pressing the “Download” or “Send” button does not result in the conclusion of a paid contract between the company and the consumer. For this to be the case, the order button must be marked with the words “order with obligation to pay” or a similar, clear formulation. Otherwise, buyers are not bound to the contract and do not have to make any payments.
Have you fallen into the subscription trap?
If you have given your phone number to install something, the company will inform you about the “conclusion” of the paid contract via SMS. “cancel” this in your personal customer area on your mobile provider’s website or reply to the SMS with stop or stop . The company must accept this: The company is not allowed to make any debits.
Regardless of this, it is advisable to inform mobile phone provider about the unwanted subscription contract , to demand an end to the debits and a refund of the amounts of money that have already been debited.
The Internet Watchlist recommends:
- To prevent unwanted subscriptions, have WEB or WAP billing and value-added services blocked by your mobile phone provider .
- If possible, surf the Internet with your smartphone via a secure WiFi connection This means that it is not technically possible for third-party providers to bill supposed subscription contracts through your mobile phone provider.
- the setting in your mobile operating system that programs can only be downloaded from the official company websites (Google Play, Apple iTunes, Windows Phone Store) This setting minimizes the risk of installing malicious programs on the mobile device.
Note and information on the topic of third-party blocking:
This block is regulated by law and is set up by the provider free of charge upon request.
The subscriber can request that the provider of publicly accessible mobile services and the provider of the connection to the public mobile network block the identification of his mobile connection free of charge on the network side in order to use and bill for a service provided in addition to the connection. Telecommunications Act (TKG) §45d(3) (Source: dejure.org )
Multi-level third-party blocking
The different mobile phone providers usually allow you to set up the blocking in different levels. At the highest level, depending on the provider, the company's value-added services can no longer be used. But let's be honest, who has ever used a value-added service from their mobile phone service provider?! Send postcards via MMS?! News tickers or weather forecasts etc.?! We now do all of this using dedicated apps and the mobile internet connection.
Paying online with your phone
The so-called “carrier payment” also includes the option of being able to pay online via mobile phone. For this purpose, a PIN code is usually sent via SMS, which must be entered on the website in order to authorize payment. This option was often used in the past when it came to copied profiles on Facebook . Copies of the original profiles are then created here, which then send friend requests and ask for the cell phone number. Once this has been issued, you will then receive the SMS mentioned above, from which you should then send a PIN to your new old friend. You will also put a stop to this scam.
How can I set up the lock?
Setting up the block is usually easy for mobile phone providers via customer service:
