It must be trustworthy if it comes from WhatsApp contacts, right? Not really, because sending Kaufland's apparent competition to WhatsApp contacts is part of the data collection scam.
The message sent
The most treacherous thing is that these messages don't come from any strange numbers, but from your own WhatsApp contacts, which is why you trust them far too quickly:

The message contains the Kaufland logo and the phrase “Kaufland State Food Price Subsidy”. Below is a link in which the name “Kaufland” appears, but the main URL is (in this case) “effectequator.tech”. These false competitions are often set up on subpages of hacked companies, where they are not immediately noticed.
What happens when you open the link
As soon as the link has been opened, you will be confronted with the supposed competition in which €2,000 can supposedly be won.

Four irrelevant questions are asked, after which you have already “won” – but first of all, the link to the fake competition has to be shared on WhatsApp (sometimes also on Facebook Messenger)!
Of course we did that (wink wink) and come to what was supposed to be the last step… we thought.

If you tap on “Complete Registration”, you will be taken to another competition, which seems to be very outdated in terms of the date, because in our case it has the date “August 18, 2018”.
You have to spin a wheel of fortune to win a prize. Let's make it smooth!

Such luck too! In the second attempt we won a €200 Amazon voucher! What actually happened to our Kaufland profit? Anyway, let's continue:

Treacherous: We have to agree that “third-party providers” can contact us for advertising before we enter our data.
And then they will contact you... Dozens of companies will literally bombard you by email, phone, SMS and post and tell you, for example, that you have won a competition and now your bank details are needed, but you need a magazine subscription to finance it have to complete. And that several times a day. For months!

Only at the end do we find out from the imprint who the real organizer is: Not Kaufland, but toleadoo GmbH, which has been known as a data dealer for years and has been warned about for years .
Conclusion
We cannot judge whether anyone will actually receive a prize after the closing date (in this case December 31, 2022) of the competition, but only the presentation of the competition with the pretense of being from Kaufland, the redirects, the fake comments from supposed winners and the The fact that the “competition sites” often disappear from the Internet without a trace after a few weeks strongly suggests that the winnings are never paid out.
