Criminals commit data theft through fake iCloud pages!
Our cooperation partner Watchlist Internet warns about criminals who steal iPhones.
They use Siri to get their victim's phone number and email address. They send fake Apple messages and demand the disclosure of personal information. They are necessary so that the theft victim can get his iPhone back. With the requested data, the thieves can unlock the iPhone and use it without restrictions.
iPhone owners who have their mobile device stolen by criminals can receive emails or text messages from the thieves. The news reportedly states that Apple requires iPhone owners to log into icloud.com and provide personal information in order to get their smartphone back.
There is a link to this in the notifications. It leads to fake iCloud pages:

Theft victims who provide criminals with their iCloud credentials on the fake website allow them to unlock the stolen iPhone. This means that criminals can use it without restrictions and sell it for a profit.
Why can thieves send you messages?
The iPhone thieves know that victims of their theft will receive a new SIM card with their old phone number. If the iPhone has activated the lock screen, the criminals instruct the voice assistant Siri to dial an external phone number. The phone number that appears on the called device belongs to the theft victim.
In the same way, thieves can find out their victim's email address. Once they have this information, they can send their fraudulent phishing messages via SMS and email.
Prevent phishing attempts!
So that you don't lose your iPhone and your data to criminals, you can set the setting on your device so that access to programs is not possible when it is locked. To do this, you have to go to “Settings” and select the “Touch ID & Code” menu item there.
Make the selection that “Allow access when locked” is not possible. To do this, you need to move the activated green switches to the left so that they appear white:

Also deactivate the ability to use Siri when locked on your iPhone. To do this, select the menu item “General” – “Accessibility” in the “Settings”. You will find the “Interaction” section with the “Home button” item. Select this. Disable the “Hold to speak” option by setting it to “Off”.

Protect phone numbers from cost traps
Criminals can not only use their stolen cell phone, but also use it for expensive value-added services.
For this reason, have your mobile phone provider block your phone number for WAP/web billing, premium content, subscriptions, in-app purchases and value-added numbers and SMS.
This protects you from high bills.
