The latest version of the “TrueView” app prevents the overzealous sending of pictures of the genitals to potential partners.
The application uses a filter to detect both faces and nudity in photos.
If you still want to send intimate pictures of your conquests, you have to use the usual messenger apps.
Selfies instead of naked pictures
“We don’t want to spoil the fun of dating for users, but rather bring some decency back,”
TrueView co-founder Matt Verity is quoted by Metro.
“As soon as users chat via private messages, it is of course up to them again what they send.”
The new nudity filter also does not allow you to publish pictures without clothing on your own profile.
Instead, those wanting to date should upload a selfie so that potential partners are not misled - and other personal information is also verified by linking to social media profiles on Facebook, LinkedIn and Co.
In this way, users can gain trust points and are ranked higher - anyone who appears untrustworthy can no longer reach particularly trustworthy users and can only surround themselves with people like themselves.
“Online dating app users are tired of interacting with people who, at best, don’t take dating seriously and, at worst, lie about themselves,”
says Verity.
Sending pictures of your private parts may be a sign of honesty, but one that “should be a thing of the past,” Verity concludes.
