Prevent misuse

Google's decision to no longer allow the cloud resources that are made available to developers free of charge for deepfakes comes as no surprise to observers and was expected - not least in view of popular cases of misuse of the technology (see, for example, our articles HERE and HERE and HERE ) .

defined a deepfake ban in its FAQ . Misuse to host files for DDoS attacks or cracking passwords is also prohibited. The company itself has so far remained silent about what exactly led to the rethinking of deepfakes. Insiders suspect that both ethical and resource-saving aspects could have played a role here.
