In order to “incite” a little, pictures of dark-skinned people who show behavior that causes a stir, for example this picture at the moment, are often shared.

It shows an African who has made himself comfortable on a gravestone and is smoking.

è ” is the title of the article, in German: This is the respect they have for us ”.

The short sentence and the photo imply that the picture may have been taken in Italy and shows African migrants in a local cemetery. Thanks to Facebook's automatic translation, this post is also widely shared in other European countries and of course in Germany.

Where does the photo come from?

It does n't from Italy, not from France, not from Germany, not from Hungary or wherever else its origin was assumed, but from South Africa .

The image first appeared on various in 2012 and was used again and again, but in a completely different context: Whoonga .

Whoonga, also called Nyaope, is a highly addictive drug based on marijuana or heroin that is widely used in South Africa, often mixed with rat poison and washing powder and mixed with AIDS antivirals. The drug is very cheap to get, which is why it is unfortunately particularly widespread among the poorer population of South Africa.

The picture shows a drug addict in South Africa consuming the drug in a cemetery.

Why in a cemetery?

South Africa, particularly the areas around Johannesburg and Cape Town, has a major apartheid problem. Although the white population is the minority, the black population is heavily oppressed, and homelessness in particular is a major problem in the country.
The homeless people's poorly assembled corrugated iron huts are often dismantled by force, so these people often look for places from which they cannot be easily driven away with bulldozers: cemeteries.
This is not a new phenomenon; in fact, homeless people have often settled in cemeteries there since the 1990s townships have developed on cemeteries , i.e. residential settlements that were created as a result of South Africa's racial segregation policy.

Conclusion

There is no migrant in the picture in any European country, neither in Italy nor in Germany. It is about a most likely homeless person in South Africa who is consuming a drug that is affordable even for poor people in a cemetery.
