If the game does not voluntarily want to go in front of the hunter's gun, various lures are used. The method shown is actually used.
We received a few inquiries as to whether the picture shown and the description match:

“Prepared for the “happy hunt”…..
Who comes up with such crap? I still go with hunters in the sense of keeping the forest including trees in order and only acting in harmony with nature. But fun???? You’re disgusting!”
Real lure method
However, this picture was not taken in Germany, but in France. The French site “Anymal” published the picture on Facebook . They write that this hunting method is still permitted in parts of France: the boarders are put in cages that stand on stilts, their loud chatter attracts other ducks, which are then shot by the hunters as they fly over.
Here is a video about it:
Where is this method used?
The method shown in the picture is not allowed to be used in Germany, but is practiced in parts of France, Spain, Portugal and Africa, for example. But the principle of luring ducks with other ducks is also used in Germany, although not in small cages. The decoy ducks swim on a lake to attract other ducks.
The method of hunting with live ducks is legal in itself, but too cumbersome for most hunters, as it is easier and cheaper to get ducks in front of the rifle using plastic ducks and a decoy.
Conclusion
The picture is not a fake , but an actual hunting method, even if not in Germany.
