Whatsapp or Facebook warnings turn out to be false reports! – Hackers don’t wear black hoodies!

The following Internet users are not hackers, but rather names that are repeatedly mentioned in a chain letter: Moritz Häupl, Christian Wick, Marcel Hohmann, Domenik Beuting, Hannes Bochtler, Ute Christoff, Ute Lehr, Fabrizio Brambilla, Andreas Opitz, Anouk Theiler, Paolo Tizzanini, Christoph and Jessica Davies, Jayden K. Smith, Tobias Mathis, Peter Enis, Andrea Wilson, Marcella Labelle Carradori

Internet users are constantly being forwarded various chain letters on Facebook or WhatsApp! These chain letters are not new; they have been around for years and are constantly being circulated in a modified form. Names are usually mentioned in these chain letters and the recipient is informed that he should be careful when requesting a friend or contact, because the person named is supposedly a hacker who could delete the hard drive with the help of malware.

What does a chain letter – “hacker” – look like?

“Please tell everyone on your list not to accept the “FIRST NAME LAST NAME” contact! This is a virus (via WhatsApp) that destroys the entire hard drive and downloads data. If one of your contacts catches it, you will also be affected because it eats through people! If the number 01719626509 calls you, don't answer it! Is a hacker and all your contacts will be affected too! It was also confirmed by EUROP1 and SAT1 this morning! Forward!"

A general note about chain letters of this type:

None of the media mentioned, in this case EUROP1 and SAT1, have never confirmed anything (Europ1 doesn't even exist in this spelling. Editor's note). This part was just included to make the chain letter/hoax look “official”! These hackers don't exist either, because it wouldn't be technically possible to inject a virus into your cell phone just because you accepted a contact or a call. The same applies to a friend request on Facebook. There can be no malware hidden behind the chain letter itself, because it consists only of text and does not contain a link that might lead to a website where you could possibly catch something.

What do these chain letters call themselves – “hackers”?

Here are a few names that are always associated with such dubious chain letters!

Anyway… where did this damn rumor come from that hackers always wear black hoodies?

[mk_ad]

In general it can be said!

Be careful what you click on Facebook or WhatsApp, even if a friend sends something via Messenger. The same goes for friend requests from people you don't know!

On the other hand, it should be said that status posts in which names appear should not be shared without checking, because the users mentioned in the status post were, if at all, victims of a phishing attack themselves.

And you're not a H4X0r just because you own a black hoodie. Finally: On behalf of all innocent people described as “hackers”, we ask you: Do not spread such chain letters!
