What's with these dramatic shots? And what about the photo in which the mother holds her own death scene in her hands?
Where do these pictures come from, asks a visitor to our Facebook page and refers to a photo collage that shows some dramatic photos.
Since this isn't the first time I've seen the pictures and I've always wanted to know because the boy's obvious desperation really touched me, I set out to find them. This collage is about:

A mother died in between her young son's hands after air raid in South Lebanon.
One more thing between the main boys and girls before a raid on Israel in southern Lebanon.A mother dies in her young son's arms after an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon. (Editor's translation)
The image collage comes from a Facebook page called To be or not to be stupid, which has been there since 2012.
A quick internet search shows that pictures of the boy in the red t-shirt are part of a series of pictures hosted by Getty Images (caution: the pictures shown could appear VERY disturbing!) under the title “Many Left Dead And Wounded After Air Attack In Southern Region Of Tire (Photo by Ghaith Abdul-Ahad/Getty Images)”.
If you look at the complete series of pictures at Getty Images, you can also see that the boy's mother is receiving medical care after the Red Cross arrives. The images in the collage were taken before the helpers arrived; the child thought his mother was dying/had died.
And the picture in the middle?
Further research will help:
This, according to the Lebanese Blogger Forum , is a photo of mother and son, 6 weeks later, remembering the attack and rejoicing at their survival.
Who is that and when was that and where?
In the photos you can see Muntaha Shaito and her son Ali , as you can read in the New York Times . They survived an Israeli airstrike on their van, which contained a total of 18 family members. 3 died, many were wounded.
The incident occurred on July 23, 2006 in southern Lebanon, on the way from Tireh to Tyre.
