Like every social network, Pinterest also has advertising. Recently there has been an increase in dubious online shops for hair styling devices and shaping pants. The products from zevoon.de, valurabeauty.de or lusto.de seem promising, but experience shows that you will be disappointed and receive inferior junk from China. The Mimikama cooperation partner Watchlist-Internet shows which shops you shouldn't order from.
Beware of these Pinterest shops
We took a closer look at the current advertising placements on Pinterest. Our test account predominantly displayed advertising posts for so-called dropshipping shops. Shaping pants that promise a flat stomach and slim legs as well as hair styling devices are advertised. The following dubious shops advertise on Pinterest:

Advertising must be labeled. You can recognize an advertising post on Pinterest by the note “Ad by”. You can find out more about advertising labeling for Austria at Saferinternet.at.

Dropshipping: what is it?
The shops mentioned are dropshipping shops. Dropshipping shops appear serious. In many cases you have an imprint, contact details and a professional website. You usually come across such shops through advertising on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok or Pinterest. Although dropshipping shops are not necessarily fraudulent, numerous problems are inevitable when placing an order.
With dropshipping, the goods are sent directly from the production factories, which are usually located in China, to the consumers. The online shops never see the goods. This is not actually a problem, but in many cases you are not clearly informed about it. According to company data, these are often companies based within the EU. No wonder that many consumers are surprised that a package suddenly arrives from Asia.
