Email from Facebook? Cyber ​​criminals contact you via email and claim to be part of the Facebook team or “Meta for Business”. In a fake email they inform you that various functions on your Facebook account and your page have been restricted or that a page has been blocked because it allegedly violates the community standards! In order to remove the block, the person concerned must click a link in the email!

But be careful! Even if this email and the website to which you are redirected look very genuine, you must not allow yourself to be influenced or deceived! The email and the website only appear to belong to Meta and Facebook respectively. The fake site asks you to provide personal information such as your username and email address.

The subject: Notice of Facebook feature restrictions
The content: “ Your Page has been unpublished due to continued Community Standards violations.
Your page is restricted because it didn't follow Community Standards. We know we're not always right, if you think we got it wrong you can disagree with our decision and in some cases get the restriction removed. These Terms and Standards help ensure Facebook remains a welcoming, respectful environment. If you think your page was unpublished in error, you can appeal. Before you appeal, we suggest removing any violating content from your Page Please keep in mind that if your appeal is denied, your Page will be permanently deleted.

In German it means:

How to identify suspicious emails and messages

Do not respond to such emails
Do not respond to messages that ask you to:

  • password
  • Social Security Number
  • Credit card details

Use warnings ! Get notified of unknown logins and enable two-factor authentication to increase the security of your account.
