Twitter vs. Musk
As previously reported , Twitter filed a lawsuit against the Tesla CEO, who now does not want to complete the purchase of the short message service as planned. The reason for this is allegedly untrue information about the number of fake accounts and social bots that are on the tweeting platform. According to Twitter, attempts to explain the numbers always came up empty.
So Elon Musk almost casually dropped a $44 billion deal.
Musk vs. Twitter
Elon Musk is now responding to this lawsuit with a counterclaim filed as “confidential.” What that means is that the lawsuit, which was previously filed by Twitter and now also by Musk in the US state of Delaware, cannot be viewed.
Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose
According to observers, the likelihood of Musk's defeat in court seems quite high. This would result in a forced takeover of the short message service. In addition, Musk could have to pay the contractually agreed compensation of $1 billion. This served to protect the company if the richest man in the world was unable to raise the financing.
