Laser? Energy weapon? In a world where everyone has a smartphone and can become an eyewitness, it has become even more important to distinguish between true and false. A recent example shows how a video from Florida suddenly became the story of a devastating forest fire on Maui. But what is really behind the glowing celestial phenomena? “laser” in Maui a few days ago that was supposedly responsible for the fires, which after our fact check turned out to be a reflection of a camera lens, or as reported at the beginning of August that another “laser beam” on Maui was actually a If a rocket was launched in California, it is now an “energy weapon,” as one user writes on Facebook !

The “Energy Weapons” video and its origins
It all started with a fascinating video that showed lightning during a thunderstorm on a Florida beach. But it was soon incorrectly linked online to the devastating wildfire in Lahaina, Maui.
Wildfire in Lahaina
The Maui fire is undoubtedly a tragedy. More than 110 people lost their lives and thousands were forced to flee. But does this fire really have anything to do with the video? With the spread of the video came speculation. Some claimed it was a directed-energy weapon, others saw it as a sign of a secret attack. These conspiracy theories are not new, especially when it comes to natural disasters.
The true origin
In fact, the video was taken on the beach in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, long before the Maui fire broke out. In addition, the video was uploaded by a witness who claimed to have seen UFO Yeh!
Maui or Fort Lauderdale, Florida?
The video was supposedly shot in Maui, but after our research we found out it was in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
More specifically at 298 S Fort Lauderdale Beach BlvdFort Lauderdale, FL 33316, USA, we took a screenshot (left) from the video and compared it with the Google Maps (right). We have marked striking points such as palm trees, the concrete pillars, the canal and a piece of the blue marking for comparison!

A UFO?
Really? No, like the “laser” on Maui , it’s another camera lens reflection!
That means: The whole thing is simply a lens reflection caused by the light, the headlight, of the car driving past. The light hits the smartphone camera at a certain angle and creates this effect. If you look closely, you can see that the speed of this reflection is exactly the same as the speed of the black car passing by. It appears in the picture and disappears at the same time.

This is a camera lens reflection! And NO, we were not bought to report this. This is simply called thinking logically .
Fact check:
Claim: The video was recorded in Maui.
Fact check: According to our research, the location was Fort Lauderdale, Florida. We confirmed this by comparing screenshots and Google Maps. The video was recorded long before the wildfire broke out in Lahaina, Maui.
Claim: The video shows a UFO.
Fact check: The witness who uploaded the video claimed to have seen a UFO. However, the appearance in the video is a lens reflection.
Claim: The video shows a directed-energy weapon or a secret attack.
Fact Check: There is no evidence that the event shown in the video has anything to do with a directed-energy weapon or a secret attack. The reflection in the video was caused by the light of a passing car.
Claim: The speed of the reflection is the same as that of the black car.
Fact check: In fact, the video shows that the speed of the lens reflection exactly matches that of the black car driving by. This confirms that it is a reflection of the car light.
Conclusion: In a time when the lines between reality and misinformation are blurring, it is important to keep a clear view of the facts. The recent example, in which a video from a Florida beach led to speculation about a devastating forest fire caused by an energy weapon on Maui, shows the power of false associations.
The alleged "laser" apparitions, UFO sightings and secret threats that emerged from the video were, upon closer examination, proven to be illusions caused by lens flare and deception. The origin of the video lies far away from the dramatic events on Maui.
This case is an important reminder that the world of online media and social platforms should be approached with caution. Information can spread quickly, but is not always accurate. It's more important now than ever to critically examine claims, verify sources, and recognize signs of misinformation.
