“Write in the comments 7 and see what happens to the picture...”

This instruction appears on Facebook in the following status post :

The status contribution as wording (sic!)

Millions of people are afraid of this picture. At first I didn't believe it either.
Write in the comments 7 and see what happens to the picture, it's really too bad, kids and parents, please don't comment, it's too bad

Over 184,000 people have already commented on the status post.

What happens if you comment with “7”?

Nothing! But you never know, hundreds of thousands of users think, and so every minute new users comment with “7” and the status post constantly gets new comments.

And now?

Nothing! But you can clearly see how EASILY you can influence people and how easily users fall into a trap.

Not the first time!

There was already a similar status contribution in 2017 . At that time, a picture of a shark was shown and users had to enter the number “8”. Jens H. from the Mimikama team reported about it at the time and wrote the following:

“...it's quite fascinating that this type of clickbait has been around on Facebook for a long time and still encourages users to participate. Why?

Is it really the herd instinct?

The mere hope “but this time it will definitely work”?

Pity that you just don't want to leave the others there alone as smeared people (a form of the online Samaritan)?

What's frightening in this context is the fact that there isn't one clickbait of this kind every day, they're all around happily, with varying response rates, but there are still quite a few. "They're clickbait – and there are a lot of them" .

So if you carry yourself with the faint hope that at some point people's learning factor would kick in and they would understand that nothing changes in the picture and that they won't comment anymore, then, given the figures available, you have to realize that you still have a few more moons We'll have to be patient, the simplicity isn't completely gone yet. In other words, the private broadcasters have fulfilled their educational mission.

But what really works, I was amazed the fourth time - just press ALT + F4 briefly and see what happens; if your window closes, you did something wrong, then try again at midnight.”
