In the future there will be a direct connection between the newsfeed display and messenger chats.
So Facebook brings advertising from Newsfeed to Messenger
In the future, Facebook will offer companies the opportunity to place ads in users' news feeds, which will start a chat in Messenger as soon as they are clicked.
Messenger – Boss David Marcus is convinced that Messenger offers an ideal platform for direct communication with customers.
A billion people use Facebook, and the company has long announced that it wants to make money through direct interaction between companies and customers.
Since spring, companies have had the opportunity to bring so-called chatbots onto the messenger platform; with these chatbots, users can have a conversation with the software. At first the quality of the bots was rather poor, but the level has now increased, says Marcus.
Facebook is currently testing the “Rooms” function in which groups can be created for messages on individual topics, Marcus announced. Marcus is certain that the exchange of telephone numbers will be replaced by text messaging services. “Why should I give someone a sequence of numbers today when they can simply find me by my name?”
With Messenger and WhatsApp (also one billion users), Facebook has a fairly strong position in the short message services sector.
