For some users who only use the Internet occasionally, Facebook is something like a news platform.

This isn't particularly surprising, because there are many news formats on Facebook, including many pages that spread so-called "nonsense", i.e. views and opinions that often look like serious reports, but whose topic and content is more esoteric can be assigned to the conspiracy theory area.

Apparently, various sites are now feeling the effects of this, because an article from March 2019 from the site “ Natural News ” was translated more poorly than well into German and is being spread verbatim on various sites that earn their clicks with these same nonsense articles.

Sites like “Snap4Face”, its partner site “News4Friends”, “Natural News” or “ Breitbart ” (where the article was also published) are sites that mostly spread esoteric, conspiracy theory and legal ideological articles... exactly that What Facebook and their external fact checkers classify as fake news !

2017 – The fight against fake news begins

It was announced in December 2016 implemented for the first time in English-speaking countries in March 2017 :
Incredible articles were marked with “disputed” (“disputed” or “doubted”).
Facebook wrote at the time:

“You will have noticed that some news stories have been marked as disputed on Facebook. News stories that have been reported to Facebook by users as fake are verified by independent third-party companies. These fact-checkers signed the impartial Poynter Code of Principles. A story is marked as disputed when fact checkers determine the information is fake.”

A lot has happened since then: Even in closed and secret groups, users see indications that a certain article has been classified as fake by fact checkers. These news channels are increasingly disappearing from Facebook completely.

2019 – It is marked more clearly

However, the small notice is often not even paid attention to, which is why Facebook has been taking even stronger action against fake news
since the end of 2019 Now fake news is also faded out! The actual message is still mostly readable, but the fade is now clearly in the foreground and cannot be overlooked.

In addition, in 2019 alone, Facebook deleted several million posts that violated the terms of use.

Conclusion

Yes, Facebook also action against misinformation about vaccinations, but not specifically against false vaccination information. In general, action is being taken against the spread of fake news, which the spreaders of such news are apparently now feeling the effects of.
