Facebook wants to enable external audits of its approach to deleting content.
Facebook: Independent body planned for complaints about posts – The most important thing to start with:
The company is setting up an independent committee where users can object to the deletion of posts. Zuckerberg also demands clear regulations from politicians.
New independent body
As Mark Zuckerberg explained to the Financial Times , a new independent board for Facebook is currently being set up. This should allow users to object to the deletion of their content. Facebook repeatedly struggles with accusations of deleting too many or too few posts. Politicians, on the other hand, often take too long to delete hate speech, terrorist propaganda and violence.

Zuckerberg also states in his Financial Times report that Facebook is now also working on enabling external reviews of the content deletion process. Further details are not known.
Call to politics
Zuckerberg calls on politicians to give online companies guidelines through more regulation. This also includes data portability – the right of users to transfer their data from one service provider to another.
“Without clear rules on portability, strict data protection rules encourage companies to keep information under lock and key and not share it with others in order to avoid regulatory risks,” said Zuckerberg.
Control of data transfer
Recently, Facebook launched a feature that allowed its users to see and control what data is shared with Facebook from other websites and apps. Zuckerberg points out open questions regarding current regulations. For example, how one could decide who owned certain data.
“I believe good regulation may hurt Facebook’s business in the short term – but will be better for everyone in the long run, including us,” Zuckerberg continued. Facebook “will of course not agree to all suggestions.”
Millions of smaller companies rely on Facebook's expertise in data analysis.
